Enzo Zidane to play for Real Madrid Under-18

The Zidane dynasty is very much on the up. Enzo, Zizou's oldest son, is following in his father's golden footsteps and is set to represent Real Madrid's under-18s ('Juvenil A') next season, the last waypoint before making the leap into senior football. The starlet, who just turned 18, is coming off a fine campaign in Fernando Morientes' championship-winning under-17s ('Juvenil B').

This season he has been one of the most valuable players, playing both as a midfielder as playmaker, as did the great Zinedine Zidane in his longed time. When not in France completing his coaching badges, Zidane Sr. has barely missed a 'Juvenil B' game in which his chip off the old block has featured. It is worth remembering that Enzo's younger brothers, Luca and Theo, are also on Real Madrid's youth teams.

Jese Rodriguez: Real Madrid first team player or leave

Jese Rodriguez is very clear about his future; he becomes first team player of Real Madrid next season or, very reluctantly, he will have to prepare the bags and give up his dream of winning at the Bernabeu Stadium in white. The young striker contract ends on June 30 next year and is not willing to sign his renewal with Real Madrid if the club does not guarantee him by contract, to be a first team player for all purposes from next season.

Jese Rodriguez to leave Real Madrid
Jese (Real Madrid Castilla player)

Yesterday, the earthquake caused by the interview in which he claimed a chance in the first team, had their replicas in three areas of the capital of Spain. First, at the offices of the Bernabeu, where nobody expected those statements of the jewel of the academy. Then in Valdebebas, where Mourinho was not happy with the words of Jese. And finally in Las Rozas, where the player was playing a game with the under-20 Spanish national team against Real Madrid Castilla. There, the Real Madrid imposed the law of silence for the young players of the white academy.

Jese Rodriguez: "They don't give me an opportunity"

Jese Rodríguez, the Real Madrid Castilla star, is confident he is doing well enough to be given some play time in the first team. And he has no problems in saying so. The last competitive match with Real Madrid for the top scorer of the youth team (13 goals) was on March 24, 2012 against Real Sociedad.

Isn't your objective to move up to the first team?
There are good players in the first team but right now all of us in the youth teams see it as being a long way off. I don't know what's going on there but Mourinho is picking players from the first team more, which is normal, but I think that the academy is working well too.

Why do you think you have not had an opportunity in the first team?
I don't understand it. I keep on working hard but I don't know. I'm thinking about my team now and myself, that's the priority. I'm going to keep on working hard there and I hope the club knows I'm working hard, I'm sure they do know and they will be watching.

Some think you have done enough to earn an opportunity.
Yes, I think so too. But if the opportunities don't come, you lose hope.

But do you still dream about playing for Real Madrid?
Yes, but I'm gradually losing hope, when I see the opportunities aren't coming my way.

Aitor Karanka has always been one of your supporters at the club.
He still is, but we're not so close anymore.

And with Mourinho?
Mourinho is a manager who demands a lot from his players. I tried to learn as much as I could from him and he obviously demands a lot from the youth team players, even more so of the academy players, and I learned what I could from him.

Do you think he is a good coach with regard to the academy?
I think he's a coach who surrounds himself with players that have already made it. The academy coach is Toril.

Jese Rodriguez: Hunting the 'Vulture'

One is a legend. The other, for now, is nothing but a future player. But the beginnings are the same; scoring without stopping in the Real Madrid Castilla. They are Emilio Butragueño and Jese Rodriguez. The young player wants to break the record of the 'El Buitre' ('Vulture'). Emilio holds the scoring record in a season playing for the R.M.Castilla with 21 goals in the 83-84 season, in which the youth squad was champion of the Spanish silver category. Jese has scored 13 in 24 matchdays, but he has played only 21.

Ahead of Jese Rodriguez there are other gunners, with a best record, who won an opportunity to play for the first Real Madrid team, but he has 18 games remaining to beat them. They are Negredo (16 goals in the 06-07 season), Soldado (20 in 05-06), Morales (14 in 93-94), Rosagro (20 in 88-89) and Aldana (15 in the 89-88).

Real Madrid has included Casemiro in the European Champions League squad

Carlos Henrique Casemiro, the new signing of Real Madrid who is going to play for the young team (R.M.Castilla) during the rest of the season (he comes on loan but white team has a purchase option), is already in Spain and has landed in surprise. Along with Diego Lopez, Real Madrid has included him in its list of additions for the European Champions League. The Brazilian midfielder, 20, landed yesterday morning in Madrid-Barajas airport and met his new teammates in the training of the young team.

Two days ago, before boarding at the airport in Sao Paulo, Casemiro wanted to say goodbye via Twitter and thanks all the people supported him: "Friends, I'm already heading Spain towards a challenge. Firstly, I wanted to thank the support messages. These days I have been busy preparing for the trip and I have not had time to say goodbye to the fans. I also want to send a big hug and thanks to all employees of Sao Paulo, the field operators, the sport facilities managers and all the teammates. They were more than ten years in Sao Paulo, where I grew as a person and as a professional. Now, my life goes on in Madrid and I will give my best for this club. I'm sure I will have your support."

In the white club he will meet Marcelo, with who has shared dressing room in the Brazilian team. The Real Madrid left-back sent the following message via Twitter: "When do you come to Madrid? We're together brother". Casemiro answered a few minutes later: "I am now embarking. We're together forever, brother."

Casemiro is a box to box midfielder. He is 1.84 meters tall and is one of the players who has stood out in recent years in the Brasileirao championship, along with Neymar and Lucas Moura. Playing for the Brazil Under-20 team achieved the world champion two years ago in Colombia.

The new Mourinho's left-backs

While Real Madrid doctors are working to reduce the recovery time of Marcelo and Coentrao, Jose Mourinho is working on alternatives to replace his two left-backs.

Jorge Casado Real Madrid TV interview
Casado (R.M.Castilla player)

The first option is to change the Arbeloa's position. The international Spanish player will change the 'chip' and think that next month will play left-back. The good thing for Mourinho is that the white defender has already played a lot in that position and has given guarantees. The trouble, forces to change the two sides of the defensive line and Sergio Ramos or Essien will have to fill the gap left by Arbeloa on the right wing. In principle, this would be the plan A.

The second option would be to choose Nacho, the youth squad player, to occupy the left side. The versatile Real Madrid Castilla defender also has played in more than once in the left side. In fact, his debut with Real Madrid in a Spanish league match was against Valencia, at the Mestalla Stadium in the season 10-11, and he played in that position. And had a good performance. With this variant, Mourinho has the opportunity to place Arbeloa on the right side so there would be only a change.

The last option, the more unlikely. Mourinho may bet on a natural leftie player to occupy the left-back position of Real Madrid; Casado. The Real Madrid Castilla player is having a great season with the youth team and said that "Nobody is happy with the injuries of the teammates. You can open more doors but I have no hurry. I'm ready but the Castilla is my team. If the coach calls me I will be there to help as I have done in other times. Both me and my colleagues are always ready", without forgetting that "No one has spoken to me. All happened suddenly, was a crazy weekend. Several times I have trained with the first team and the coach knows me. I will keep working, now I have the mind set on the next Saturday's match against Cordoba".

Villareal 2 - 1 RM Castilla (Day 1, 2nd Division)

Real Madrid Castilla wasn't able to earn its first points in the Second Division after only just being defeated on their visit to El Madrigal on the first day of the championship (2-1). Alberto Toril's side deserved more after holding their own well against a team that has just been relegated from the First Division. Jese put the Whites ahead with his penalty shot in the 18th minute but Villarreal staged a comeback with two isolated plays by Cavenaghi. Despite the defeat, the Real Madrid reserve team made a good impression and showed that they're capable of big things in Segunda.

Villareal vs RM Castilla

Castilla came on at El Madrigal with confidence, intent on settling in to the new category as soon as possible. Toril opted for nine players from the squad that achieved their promotion along with new players Fabinho and Mateos for the first line-up of the season. After a few minutes sizing up their rivals, Jesé led the first forays into the home team's area. The Canary Islander began the play that led to the first goal on the scoreboard with an opening up the left to involve Tcherychev. This put the ball nicely into the area but Oscar Plano wasn't able to shoot because of a foul from Mellberg and Juan Carlos. Jesé successfully took the penalty in the 18th.

From then on Villarreal charged ahead, looking to even the scores. However, Castilla coordinated their rows to perfection, preventing the local team from approaching Mejías' goal. Only the odd play from Uche put the Whites' advantage in danger. Meanwhile, Toril's side attempted a fast break. It was a still ball that put a draw on the scoreboard. Cavenaghi took advantage of a still ball in the area after his team's corner, beating Mejías during stoppage time.

There were attacks from both sides in the second half with more open football and incursions into both areas. Although Villarreal somewhat dominated possession, Castilla created clearer scoring opportunities. In the 64th Tcherychev, one of the most effective players in offense during the game, put a low shot through to the centre from the left that was close to being finished off by Álex. The first change to the Whites' side came in the 69th when Borja substituted Óscar Plano in order to strengthen the offense.

It was a very even match but Castilla was hit by bad luck. A loss in defence led to the home team's second goal. Cavenaghi collected the ball right outside the box, moved forward and scored Villarreal's victory goal (80'). Toril sought a draw in the last minutes and sent on Lucas and Raúl de Tomás. However, the scoreboard didn't move and Castilla was unable to earn its first points in its debut in the new category.

Summary

Stadium: El Madrigal
Attendance: 8,000
Goals: 0-1 Min. 18 Jesé (pen), 1-1 Min.45. Cavenaghi, 2-1 Min. 80 Cavenaghi.

Fabinho to play for Real Madrid Castilla

Real Madrid Castilla already has substitute for Carvajal. The white club formalized yesterday the transfer (on loan) for a season with an option of purchase of the player Fabio Henrique Tavares, Fabinho, Brazilian right-back, 18, who arrives from Rio Ave, Portuguese team.

Fabinho training with Real Madrid
Fabinho training with Real Madrid

Fabinho began his career with 12 years in the Paulinas team until February 2011 when he joined Fluminense at zero cost after highlighting in Sao Paulo Junior Cup. Ney Franco, Under-20 coach of Brazil, called him for the Eight Nations Tournament in South Africa, where he was one of the captains of the 'canarinha'. Represented by Jorge Mendes, the famous Portuguese agent took him in June along with another player (Filipe Augusto) to Rio Ave, where he signed a contract for six years. Even without debut in Portugal, moves now to Madrid. Mendes himself was yesrerday at the Bernabeu Stadium to finalize Fabinho's contract details with white club.

Right-back with long haul, with a powerful stride, and especially with amazing physical conditions: 1.87 meters tall and 78 kilograms, yesterday afternoon trained in Valdebebas Sports City with the first team and other youth team players called by Mourinho.

Real Madrid has accelerated in recent days the efforts to begin to give new players to Toril in his career as coach of R.M. Castilla in the Spanish Second Division. The club is working during this week to close the contracts of two Spanish players that will involve a cost of nearly 3 million euros. One of them could be Borja García, right midfielder of Cordoba, 21.

Dani Carvajal to play for Bayer Leverkusen

Dani Carvajal is very close to becoming a new player of Bayer Leverkusen. So much so that just need official confirmation. The right-back of Real Madrid Castilla, 20 years old, will play in the Bundesliga because Jose Mourinho is not interested in him. Negotiations are well advanced between clubs and the transfer, with a repurchase option, will be around 5 million euros. The player and Bayer have already agreed.

Carvajal, who was born in Madrid, has been instrumental in the rise of R.M. Castilla to Second Division. But with the club's decision to sign a right-back to fight for a position with Arbeloa, the player, with his representative, has decided a change of scene and continue to grow in a more demanding competition. Carvajal is leaving after 10 years in the white youth teams without debut in a competitive match with the first team.

So Real Madrid needs a right-back and is going to look for one in the summer market. Arbeloa is currently the only right defender one hundred percent reliable, because Sergio Ramos is immovable as a center defender after his spectacular season. Lass and Altintop, who have also been used in that position, are not specialists (and Real Madrid wants to sell them), nor Albiol, who has also played on occasion on the right side.

Mourinho's favorite player for the position is Maicon. The coach coincided with the Brazilian player at Inter Milan and although he is about to turn 31, is a player with a proven quality, the best right-back in recent years with Dani Alves. Of course, a problem has arisen to sign Maicon, and it is not minor: Chelsea. The English club seems to have advanced negotiations for Maicon and would pay between 8 and 10 million euros. Mourinho, despite everything, does not waive the signing.

Other names that have been linked with Real Madrid are Piszczek (Polish), Ivanovic (Serbian) or Mario Fernandes (Brazilian). Others have sounded, though with less force; Iraola, Walter, Isla or Bosingwa. Fernandes option would be perhaps the most expensive, but he is the player with more future. Ivanovic, who is starter in the European champions (Chelsea) would bring more experience and versatility (can play as center defender). And Mourinho already knows Bosingwa from his stage at Porto.

Alvaro Morata to play for Real Madrid next season

Alvaro Morata is the first signing of Real Madrid 2012-13. Jose Mourinho has decided that the youth squad player is going to be one of the 25 players of the first team for the next season. The player, therefore, will not play for R.M. Castilla.

Alvaro Morata at the Bernabeu Stadium with Real Madrid jersey
Alvaro Morata at the Bernabeu Stadium

In the absence of official confirmation, the decision has been made. Morata, who turns 20 next month of October, will be for all purposes a first team player. After his second year in R.M. Castilla, from the offices and the sports management, led by Mourinho, it is considered that he deserved to be one of the 25 players of the squad.

A key to the rise of Morata is his versatility. This season he has played as left midfielder (left-winger). He struggled to adapt but eventually had a great season. His 17 goals are evidence of this. It is known that Mourinho looks for versatile players and Morata has proven he can be. He can play as forward, what he really is, also as midfielder or second forward.

With Alvaro in the first team, the Portuguese coach has two players per position across the front of attack. On the right, Di Maria and Callejon. As playmaker, Özil and Kaka. On the left, Cristiano Ronaldo and Morata (Although Morata plays better as forward) And in the center forward position, Benzema and Higuain.

Mourinho always showed a special predilection for Alvaro Morata. Two summers ago, with just 17, took him to Los Angeles where he began to see a future first team player. Months later, Morata debuted with the first team. Mourinho never lost sight of him. And after this season, will reward him with what 250 kids are dreaming in the Real Madrid factory.

But Alvaro Morata will have to work hard. A curse haunts the forwards coming out of the youth teams since Raul debuted in La Romareda stadium in 1994. Since then, no other forward formed in the R.M.Castilla has triumphed in Real Madrid's first team. Morata is the next brave to face this jinx that has lasted 18 years.

Carvajal can be the right back

The Real Madrid Castilla has revolutionized the offices of the Bernabeu stadium. The white club knows that has a great generation of young players at hand and the Spanish media does not stop speculating about the future of the main jewels of the youth team. The list is extensive: Jesse, Morata, Nacho, Juanfran... However, there is a player who has gained prominence in recent weeks. It is Carvajal, the right back of R.M.Castilla.

Carvajal Real Madrid Castilla player on the field
Carvajal

Strengthen the right back is a priority of Mourinho and the name of Carvajal has been managed as a candidate to compete with Arbeloa. More after the difficulties Real Madrid is suffering to sign a player that meets the technical conditions required by the Portuguese coach. Mourinho wants a top player for that position, but for various reasons, Lahm, Alves, Maicon or Ivanovic are impossible. That's where Carvajal comes.

The passage of time is in favor the young player. Real Madrid is looking for an important player to the right back and is not very keen of experiments. "We will not spend the money to sign an Arbeloa's substitute" they say in the club, where there are many who defend the possibility to free up some of the tabs on players who will leave, as is the case Altintop, thinking that Mourinho will pick Carvajal when he needed it. The youth player would play for Castilla and participate with the first team when the coach considers it appropriate, as well as others of his companions.

Carvajal stays out of all these movements: "We have to walk on eggshells because we are very young. In my case I take it easy, I am 20 years old and another season with Castilla is going to come good. To play in second division we will be good for everyone to adapt us to a higher level of competition, harder matches and strong rivals. We train to play for the first team", he says.

Despite his caution, he does not hidden that remains hopeful of playing for Mourinho: "The illusion is there but is a feeling that they have all youth players, not just me. We all work for a chance to play in the first team and take advantage when it comes. But again, we have to keep working because someday we will reap the fruits of our work".

Real Madrid Castilla returns to Second Division

Real Madrid Castilla is already a second division team. Five years after that players like Mata, Negredo or Granero with Michel on the bench, could not avoid relegation to the third category, the Real Madrid youth team returns to the silver category of Spanish football. After becoming champion of its group, the white team has defeated Cadiz in the two qualifying matches with an unusual superiority; 0-3 and 5-1 are the results.

Real Madrid Castilla players celebrate the fifth goal of the match

Precisely because they were group winners, Castilla and Cadiz had two opportunities for advancement. Real Madrid Castilla took the first, Cadiz have to wait. Toril, team coach and one of the great architects of achievement, said days before the beginning of the knockout round, that the match of the first leg would be key, the match at the Ramon de Carranza stadium. He was not mistaken. Real Madrid Castilla won and convinced by 0-3 and Cadiz second leg comeback seemed almost impossible.

As a result of the great result harvested in Andalusia, the Alfredo Di Stefano stadium was full and lived a festive ambient, almost celebratory. Although of course the white team had to play the game. Before the start was saved an emotional moment of silence for the recent death of 'Pitina', wife of Florentino Perez. The president wanted to see the match as Mourinho. Karanka was also present in the stadium.

Coach Alberto Toril used the same lineup as in the first leg and his boys needed just 12 minutes to net the opener: Jese stole the ball from Baquero, faced Aulestia, dribbled past him and scored in an empty goal. If Cadiz had minimal options to comeback, they disappeared at the time.

Cadiz had a strong start, but the goal was a harsh blow that kickstarted the locals siege on their goal. Morata and Joselu had chances to score a second (13', 29'), but both shots were off target. The Whites dominated the match and Morata was tackled inside the box by Camille, but Joselu failed to convert the penalty (33’). Mosquera eventually scored a second strike for the team just before half-time from an impressive 40-metre free-kick.

Joselu netted a third from a crossed shot following an assist from Carvajal (57'). De Coz scored the only strike for Cadiz in the whole tie on the 77-minute mark, but soon Mosquera tallied the fourth with another impressive long distance shot (81') and Morata sealed the pour following a pass by Denis (84').

Summary

Stadium: Alfredo Di Stefano
Attendance: 7,250
Goals: 1-0 Jesé (12´). 2-0 Mosquera (38´), 3-0 Joselu (57´), 3-1 De Coz (75´), 4-1 Mosquera (81´), 5-1 Morata (84´).
