Yesterday, Real Madrid training |
Real Madrid will not give any clues to Manchester United for the second leg of the knockout stages of the Champions League. The white team will train this Monday, March 4, at 4:00 pm (GMT) in the Etihad Stadium and Mourinho wanted to call up the whole squad for this important match.
But Jose Mourinho showed something against FC Barcelona. The Portuguese coach left more than clear that the match against Manchester United is the priority, and for this reason changed seven players in respect to the eleven that played at Camp Nou last Tuesday. Arbeloa, Xabi Alonso, Khedira, Ozil, Di Maria, Cristiano Ronaldo and Higuain rested heading into next Tuesday against United. Jose Mourinho left on the bench ffive of these seven men, while the other two were directly in the stands. Thus, Arbeloa, Khedira, Özil, Cristiano and Higuain were seated on the bench, while Xabi Alonso was in the stands by technical decision and the Argentine Di Maria by suspension.
The only line Mourinho did not change was the defense where repeated Sergio Ramos, Varane and Coentrao, besides the goalkeeper Diego Lopez. From the midfield forward, all new. Thus, it seems clear that the seven players who did not play the Classic will be next Tuesday in the starting lineup of Real Madrid ready for qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
The full list of the 24 Real Madrid players is the next:
Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas, Adan, Diego Lopez and Jesus.
Defenders: Ramos, Arbeloa, Marcelo, Albiol, Varane, Pepe, Coentrao and Carvalho.
Midfielders: Modric, Alonso, Khedira, Özil, Kaka, Callejon, Di Maria and Essien.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema, Higuain and Morata.
